June 27, 2011 - Producer Steffon Hamulak along with engineer Eric Torres were at Ocean Way Nashville on Friday recording Richie McDonald's vocals for the song 'Golden Star' (Cutter Lee/Greg Friia) benefiting The Gold Star Wives of America.

"What a great song… this is an organization that is close to my heart", said McDonald afterwards and there was no shortage of admiration for the man behind the microphone either… "This was THE voice for this song - without a doubt. I'm thrilled to be a part of it", Steffon Hamulak commented.

Tom Bukovac, Rachel Loy, Steve Sinatra, Boh Cooper, Chris Cottros and Ward Williams came to work in Ocean Way's legendary "A" room on a Sunday afternoon back in March to track the song. Present also, were two wives from the Ft. Campbell chapter of the organization and there was hardly a dry eye in the room when it was done.

Gold Star Wives was organized in 1945 by the war widows of World War II. It is a Congressional chartered, non-profit organization incorporated in the State of New York. Eleanor Roosevelt signed the original GSW incorporation papers. They Currently have approximately 10,000 members - 8 regions and 53 chapters located in 26 states. The primary mission of Gold Star Wives is to provide service, support and friendship to the widows and widowers of military personnel who died on active duty or as the result of a service connected cause.
