Sea The Desert Supports the Music Industry Coalition

Whether it is rock n roll, pop, country or the blues, music brings Nashvillians together.

Once considered a 'sleeper' city, Nashville has recently sprung astronomical residential and tourism growth all thanks to its rich music history coupled with a strong economy (and maybe the influence of a little TV show on ABC). Ironically, this growth is putting many of Nashville's iconic music landmarks at risk. One group in particular, Music Industry Coalition (MIC), has taken action to maintain Nashville's music history and its landmarks like Music Row.

As MIC supporters, we at Sea the Desert Entertainment stand firmly behind all efforts to maintain the past, present, and future of Music Row. In the words of Creative Manager Morgan Mills, “… MIC represents the past by preserving the culture and history of Music Row and at the same time represents the future, with the initiatives set forth to prevent negative change due to the ever growing redevelopment happening in Nashville."

Our founder and current President, Steffon Hamulak, states, “Music Row has written the musical story of millions of peoples lives…” and, “we need to preserve our legacy to America and the World.” A recent result of MIC's efforts was the designation of Music Row as a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. This action directly impacted us at Sea The Desert as our production studio, The Couch Room, calls 30 Music Sq West home.

We at Sea The Desert certainly support growth and development. However, as creators and music people at heart, we also passionately support culture and history. We believe Nashville can achieve a balance. We encourage city leaders, developers, MIC and the National Trust for Historical Preservation to work together to build the future of Nashville with the roots of history.
